You Can Do Anything

Are you ready to get published?

I’ve been through the process and I can help.

Queries and Rejections

For years, I wanted to be a published author. I sent out countless queries to publishers and received about the same amount of polite rejections. No matter how polite they were though, they still felt like rejections. I know how disheartening this can be.

Eventually, I learned that publishers rarely want to talk to an unpublished author. They want to talk to agents.

Landing An Agent

Next, I sent out dozens and dozens of query letters to agents hoping to get one to represent me and for many years, I received polite rejections.  However, in 2006 I finally connected with an agent willing to represent me and she has been representing me since.

She has been great and since we connected, I have authored or coauthored more than 30 books. That’s not a typo. More than 30 books!

Rejection Can Be Awesome

In 2009, a wonderful thing happened. I proposed a book idea to my agent which she declined to represent. I ultimately published this book myself.

Due to its success, I eventually quit my regular job and achieved my dream of becoming a full time author. Along the way, I continued writing for traditional publishers but have also self published many books.

A New Dimension of Success

In 2012, I founded YCDA, LLC, as a publishing company to publish a new book titled “You Can Do Anything: Three Simple Steps to Success for Graduates.” A part of me knew I could use this to help other authors get their voice out, but I really didn’t know what the format would be.

After helping a few friends publish their books, I decided to use YCDA, LLC to help other authors. There is a tremendous demand for this service and in a perfect world, I’d be able to help every author that approaches me. While I do have limitations on how many authors I can help, I’m grateful for all the authors that I have been able to help.
